A. Van Jordan has selected Maureen Sherbondy’s book (The Year of Dead Fathers) as the winner of the Robert Watson Poetry Award. Her book will be published by Spring Garden Press (Greensboro, NC). Sherbondy is the first North Carolina writer to win the award.

Maureen has won both first and second place in the Charlotte Writers’ Club’s Deane Ritch Lomax Poetry Prize. She received her prizes at the May 17th meeting.
